This is in the hospital (I just got done changing her first diaper... at least the first diaper the nurses didn't change).

Paul was confused. Elsie isn't in the NICU. She has had an elevated heart rate and breathing and her labs say that her white blood cell count is higher than it should be. Her chest x-ray was hazy, and they weren't overly concerned with that. Elsie is staying in the nursery overnight and being monitored there for 24 hours. They really don't know what is wrong or if anything is wrong for sure. I get to go feed her every few hours. I am missing my kids right now. I hate being away from all 3 of them just mostly hanging out in my hospital room. I was very upset when this first began but I feel a calm inside. We are hoping to be released tomorrow.
Elsie is in the NICU. The postpartum nurse today normally works in the NICU, and Elsie began to cry inconsolably, so that nurse came in, and said she thought it was possible (from Elsie's vital signs) that she had some sort of infection (possibly from aspirating some amniotic fluid). So she is in NICU, being monitored, having her blood tested, and getting x-rays. We don't really know anything beyond that. Pray for Elsie (or meditate, if you are a hippie).
Jen went into the hospital last night at about 8pm to be induced. We are still waiting for this kid to come out, but it hasn't happened yet. Hopefully sometime today, but it might not be until sometime tonight... late.
Jen's mom is hangin' with the kids (and breakin' blenders). Jen's sister (Aud) is going back and forth between our house, and the hospital.
Jen is glad to be here. They are not letting her eat anything, except clear fluids (a.k.a., ice and water).
The ANASAZI Foundation is one of the places Jen and Paul used to work, and this is some of the key words that have to do with them: troubled teen, wilderness program, wilderness treatment, at-risk youth, troubled youth, boot camp alternative, wilderness therapy, troubled teen program, and youth treatment program.
